The LBD

If there is one thing every girl should have in her wardrobe, then that is a little black dress. For those times when you feel you have nothing to wear, you know you can always rely on a LBD to make you look good.
So a little on the history of this iconic fashion piece, Coco Chanel was the first designer to have designed a LBD. She consistently designed keeping comfort and easy chic in mind, revolutionizing the fashion industry by introducing jersey fabric in clothes. But it was only after Audrey Hepburn wore a black dress designed by her dear friend Hubert De Givenchy, in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, that the dress really became popular.
The little back dress can be worn up or down according to the occasion and is probably one of the most versatile items of clothing a girl can possess. I, myself have about half a dozen black dresses in my wardrobe.

Nail Art: DIY

Just tried something new with my nails last night. It's really simple and all you need are 2 shades of nail paint and some tape.
Just apply the base coat and a top coat. After it has dried completely, stick the tape on the nail in any way you want, and then apply the second nail paint + the topcoat. Wait for it to dry, and then slowly peel off the tape.
Really simple and looks so good!

YSL name change?

What's in a name? We're about to find out. Chez Yves Saint Laurent confirmed to WWD this morning that new creative director Hedi Slimane is overhauling the house's iconic brand moniker. The new name? Saint Laurent Paris. The re-branding will roll out in the next couple months, but will not completely eliminate the famous YSL logo devotees have come to cherish, devised in 1961. A particular point in YSL's history is lending itself to the tweaks—1966, to be exact, when the brand's first boutique opened on Paris' Rue de Tournon. The label's original branding from that year are inspiring Slimane's edits to the YSL name and look.
Slimane is currently headquartered in Los Angeles where he is readying women's Resort and men's Spring collections to reportedly show to buyers at the Grand Palais between June 28 and July 4. However, his major debut at the French luxury house will be unveiled with his Spring 2013 collection during Paris Fashion Week between September 25 and October 3.
